The storm has shift
we're set adrift.
Our minds are left to play
and I said hey hey hey
whats blown our way,
I am the captain of this vessel.
Our raft it wrestles with the tide.
Our lives the rest and we confide
and realize with saddened eyes
we'll never see the land again.
Beating to windward.
Trudged on in irons.
Our centre of effort.
Capsized, forgotten.
A black night, a sea dragon
with scales like sapphire
and eyes of gold.
I knew better, but god dammit.
I'd rather die then go home empty handed.
My dear friends I apologized
while looking for the serpent
I have seemed to bring us
to our watery doom.
He loomed with a brackish soul,
he cracked the hull,
I need to know under whose control
is this sentinel under.
My greed has sunk the ship,
the mast has snapped,
the jigs have slipped,
the sails have ripped,
the rum we sipped
we're at the bottom of the barrel.
And in these perils
with my salted eyes
where the oceans meet the endless sky.
Call me crazy,
but I think I've seen a castle.
